The Whole Family

Where should I even start? I have so much stuff to post about from the last few weeks, so I guess I'll start with the most important thing first. Anna and Michael's wedding.

They got married on the 17th in the Timpanogos Temple and then threw a beautiful reception in the Sculpture Garden at the Springville Art Museum. Our entire Smith family was here in town and it was so much fun being all together again.

Some more of my favorite pics from the wedding weekend

We had some good times all together with the fam, and we had a special surprise for dad on father's day

We went to Payson Lake up Payson Canyon a few days ago with my parents and Matt. We had a fun time watching the dogs swim. Recon has been loving it. Look at the huge log he drug into shore.

We've also taken him a few times to Rock Canyon park to swim and he's had lots of fun in the water and playing with the other dogs there.

Recon did however manage to really embarrass us at the park. Ryan and I were flying his kite and he was off playin in the water. All the sudden we hear yelling and we turn to see Recon running off with something white in his mouth and a whole family chasing after him. I run to catch him and while I'm chasing him he drops a sock out of his mouth but still has the match. I keep chasing him and then he stops about 5 feet in front of me and starts doing his you can't catch me dance. The second I lunge at him to grab the other sock, he takes a big gulp and swallows it whole.

Embarrassing enough, he has developed this nasty little habit over the last few months. Unfortunately we have learned the hard way to keep our socks off the floor or our bedroom door shut. We have sacrificed a handful of socks to the belly of the beast in just a short amount of time.

So to finish off my story, I walked shamefully back to the family and found the small boy that the lone sock belonged to. I explained to him that my dog had ate his sock. Stunned, he sat there staring at me and his face all but said that this crazy women and her strange dog had ruined his day at the park. He turned and ran off to his mom, crying that the dog had eaten his sock. The mom looked at me disgusted and then the family walked off without a word. We took this as our cue that it was time to go.

Doggy Paddlin and the Bachelorette

On Friday we took the dogs to the lake and Ryan got to play with his new kite. Then later that night I went and partied it up at my little sis' bachelorette party.

Ryan got this kite the other day, I guess it's like a practice kite for wind surfing. It's pretty fun if you have some good wind.

Scared to get her head wet so she looks like a lion

Recon totally took to swimming and was way out there before we even realized it.

You'll have to excuse my high pitched voice, for some reason I always talk like this to Ember and it's totally involuntary so don't make fun of me.

And here we have our sexy little bachelorette, my one and only sis Anna
My camera died halfway through the party. I'm waiting to get some more pics from Maddie.

Oh that's the good stuff
You gotta get it at just the right angle
Why can't my tongue be just a tinsy bit longer?
Hey, it also makes for a good chew toy. Plus I look pretty cute when I make this face.
Oh the sweet smell of peanuts in the summer
 I think I'm in love

Hikin

So yesterday Ryan did end up playing 18 holes, but we still were able to get a good hike in too. We thought since it was Sunday that maybe Bridal Veil Falls would be quiet, but no, it was packed. So we drove up the road a little bit further to the Upper Falls which we hiked a few years back. They aren't as big as Bridal Veil, but we only saw like 4 people up and back and we got to hang out at the top falls for like 45 minutes by ourselves. It was beautiful, we had a ton of fun and Recon loved rompin around off leash and playin in the water! Can't wait to get out and do some more serious hiking this summer.

Weekend Highlights

Last weekend Ryan left me all alone and went and had a blast in Moab with his brother and a few friends. I had to work all weekend, otherwise I would have gone. But I'm glad that Ryan got to get away and take Recon for an adventure. I must admit though, despite being lonely, I don't think I have had a better nights sleep since we've been married. I got to sprawl out in the bed and not worry about my covers getting thrown off or trying to ignore my two boys snoring all night. It literally was a dream. But despite a good nights rest, I'm glad to have my boys back, I guess I didn't realize how much I enjoy spending time with my boys until they were gone. It was very lonely coming home from work every night to an empty house with no one happy to see me.

I sent Ryan with both my cameras and I didn't get too many pictures back besides these...

Ryan told me Sean (his bro) base jumped off the two cliffs on the left in this pic. I think the middle one is called Tombstone. I would have loved to watch him do that.

We gave Sean a parachute monkey for his b-day and it looks like they had some fun with it. Can you spot the other monkey in this pic?

And if I wasn't already convinced that this dog thought he was a human, I definitely am now.

So this weekend, we both got to have some fun. On Friday night we went out with my two friends from work Sarah and Ginger and they brought their hubbies. They all got to meet for the first time and I must say, it was like a match made in heaven. We did the dinner and a movie cliche and had so much fun! I'm so glad they all got along so well. In-fact, Ryan's out golfing with Ginger's boy as we speak. We definitely are going to have to get together again soon.

Yesterday we went to James' 2nd birthday party at this awesome park in Alpine. We had burgers and cake, the kids played in the water and we all watched James open his fun presents.

The beautiful Mrs Pearl
This is Josh, one of Pearl's nephews
I've never seen a little kid so excited to get clothes before
I can't believe you are already 2 James! I remember like it was yesterday when we came and saw you in the hospital after you were born. Thanks for letting us come to your awesome birthday party! We love you.

Now, hopefully Ryan will get home sometime soon. I'm beginning to think that he is playing 18 holes since he's already been gone for 3 hrs. We were planning on going on a little hike today with Recon. So please come home soon before it gets too hot :)

Wish you all a happy week and enjoy the sun while it's out!
