The Whole Family

Where should I even start? I have so much stuff to post about from the last few weeks, so I guess I'll start with the most important thing first. Anna and Michael's wedding.

They got married on the 17th in the Timpanogos Temple and then threw a beautiful reception in the Sculpture Garden at the Springville Art Museum. Our entire Smith family was here in town and it was so much fun being all together again.

Some more of my favorite pics from the wedding weekend

We had some good times all together with the fam, and we had a special surprise for dad on father's day

We went to Payson Lake up Payson Canyon a few days ago with my parents and Matt. We had a fun time watching the dogs swim. Recon has been loving it. Look at the huge log he drug into shore.

We've also taken him a few times to Rock Canyon park to swim and he's had lots of fun in the water and playing with the other dogs there.

Recon did however manage to really embarrass us at the park. Ryan and I were flying his kite and he was off playin in the water. All the sudden we hear yelling and we turn to see Recon running off with something white in his mouth and a whole family chasing after him. I run to catch him and while I'm chasing him he drops a sock out of his mouth but still has the match. I keep chasing him and then he stops about 5 feet in front of me and starts doing his you can't catch me dance. The second I lunge at him to grab the other sock, he takes a big gulp and swallows it whole.

Embarrassing enough, he has developed this nasty little habit over the last few months. Unfortunately we have learned the hard way to keep our socks off the floor or our bedroom door shut. We have sacrificed a handful of socks to the belly of the beast in just a short amount of time.

So to finish off my story, I walked shamefully back to the family and found the small boy that the lone sock belonged to. I explained to him that my dog had ate his sock. Stunned, he sat there staring at me and his face all but said that this crazy women and her strange dog had ruined his day at the park. He turned and ran off to his mom, crying that the dog had eaten his sock. The mom looked at me disgusted and then the family walked off without a word. We took this as our cue that it was time to go.
