So we drove up last Friday to Rock Springs to meet Lily and bring her home. She was very timid at first but once she'd been home for a few hours with us she really started to come around. Each day she is getting better and better. She comes right up to both of us now and constantly wants us to love on her. She is so cuddly and lovey. Her and Recon are getting along pretty well. Recon is having some jealousy issues, but he is getting over it. What can you expect from a spoiled rotten dog? They wear each other out playing all day, I think Recon's going to loose a few pounds. He's not used to so much action! Lily runs circles around him, she is so fast!
Here's a little story from our life so far with Lily:
Just about to head home, Lily will miss her foster mom Freddie
She was really timid with us on the drive home, but she did really well and slept most the time
Here's a pic of her and me the first night home. She stuck right by my side all night.
Being such a jealous boy, Recon stuck right by his dad
They tooled around the yard together the first few days. Recon taught Lily all the know hows and secret spots. Lily would follow Recon everywhere.
They played all day...
and laid on Lily's new pillow together all night. Look at these goons watching TV.
Lily has become quite the princess of the house
We took some glamour shots the other day in the leaves
But Lily being the pill that she is made it nearly impossible to get a good shot. She does not like cameras.
Lily has made best friends with my parent's dog ember. What a pair!
Had to get some glamour shots of Ember too
Had to throw this one in too, now I have proof that I can call Ryan a Zoobie
The Gang
I'd feel a little uncomfortable too
She's fitting right in to our lives perfectly
We love our sweet Lily sooooo much! She has made the perfect addition to our family. Most people don't understand why in the world we would ever want two huge dogs. They just don't understand that though they are huge, their hearts are too! They are so sweet and loving. It feels so good that we could give a happy home to a dog that was in major need of one. Lily has been through so much in her short little life and seeing how happy she is already, makes my heart melt. I have no doubt that she will be back to normal here soon. She has already made so much progress!
A little extra...
My brother Phil and his wife Nicole came last week with the kids. We weren't able to spend too much time with them, but the time we did was so much fun! I wish I had brought my camera along now cause I didn't really get any pics except these ones. Tori has become such a sassy little thing. She is so smart and so cute! They stopped by our home before they started their long drive home and I was able to snap some pics of Tori and Ryan carving a pumpkin together. Actually I don't know if I would really call it carving a pumpkin, it's more like poking holes in a pumpkin. Ryan is very creative sometimes.
It turned out pretty cute
