Our Special Bday Present

It's our birthdays again, and we are getting a special present. We have been looking for a while now for a perfect addition to our family and we have found Lily. We are going to get her on Friday!

This poor sweetheart was abused and abandoned in a house where she almost died from malnutrition. She saved her life by chewing her way out of the house and neighbors found her wandering the streets. She has been in foster care in Wyoming for 4 months now. We applied to get her a little over a month ago, we had to go through a long application process that included some home visits to make sure our house and yard were safe for her. Now we finally get to love on her this weekend. Her foster mom says that she is the most lovable dog she has ever seen. She still has some timidness around new people, especially men. But we are told there is not a mean bone in her body. She loves other animals and loves to play so her and Recon are going to be a great pair hopefully.

I forgot to mention that she is a husky/malamute mix and is around a year old. Here is the website that I found her on. I think these pictures were taken when she was still pretty skinny, they said that you could see all her ribs and hips when they first got her but she almost back to normal now.

We are so excited to get her. We are going to have so much fun with Recon and her this winter, hopefully sledding and skijoring.
